Let me introduce myself…My name is Giuseppe Bottero, I was born in 1955 in Turin and I live in Villar San Costanzo, Maira Valley (Cuneo), my family’s village of origin, with my wife Sandra and my daughter Paola.
My professional background…I start my professional career in the touristic sector, as a travel agent, in the second half of the 70s of the last century and, from 1984 until 1988, I run the Business Travels Department at Ventana Turismo, now Carlson Wagonlit Travel, by the company Fiat in Turin.
Subsequently involved in the hotel industry, I work as commercial manager and director’s assistant at the Turin Palace Hotel, the only 5 stars hotel in the town, while running at the same time the marketing department of the ancient Ristorante del Cambio in Turin and of the Principi di Piemonte Grand Hotel in Sestriere, Piedmont Alps.
In 1993, I assumed the role of Marketing director of Turin Hotels International (THI), which in only a few years went from four to nineteen hotels, resorts and restaurants in Italy and abroad.
Over my years with the THI Group, I have participated in the world's major tourism fairs: BIT in Milan, ITB in Berlin, WTM in London, IT&ME in Chicago, MITT in Moscow. I have handled the marketing of the Coral Beach Resort in Hurghada on the Red Sea (Egypt) and in March 1995, I managed the pre-opening and grand opening activities of the Tirana International Hotel, the first international hotel in Albania. Also in 1995 I supervised the pre-opening of the Excelsior Palace Hotel in Rapallo (Portofino Coast), and in 1999, the commercial repositioning of the San Domenico Palace in Taormina and the Grand Hotel Villa Igiea in Palermo (Sicily).
To celebrate the arrival of the new Millennium, cooperating with the Chef Umberto Vezzoli of the Savini Restaurant in Milan and the various Managers, I plan and organize the New Year’s Eve party at the Italian hotels and restaurants of the Company.
In July 2000, I assumed the direction of the Atahotel Concord in Turin, a 4-star hotel that was the home to Juventus Football Club for three years during the pre-match retreats for the championship and the Champions League.
My role here was, furthermore, to plan and organize the sponsors’ welcome, among then the American TV NBC, for the 20th Winter Olympic Games in Turin. From 2003 to 2006 I sat on the Board of Directors of the Torino Convention Bureau.
I then spend a couple of years in Milan as a manager of the Atahotel Fieramilano, a 4 stars hotel, with 238 rooms and suites, meeting rooms and banqueting halls.
In 2007 I come back to Piedmont and run the Restaurant and Hotel “I Ciciu” in Villar San Costanzo, in Maira Valley, just at the entrance of the Natural Reserve having the same name.
